MedCity Company Showcase

Five companies pitched for funding from an audience of over 70 potential investors from the UK and European Angel investor networks and venture capital firms during MedCity’ s first ever virtual Investor Hub Meeting held in May. Originally planned as a face to face event hosted by Octopus Ventures, but moved online due to COVID-19, our Investor Hub Meeting successfully showcased a range of innovative patented devices and platforms to potential investors.

The five companies, rigorously selected by the MedCity team, sought investment support ranging from £300k to several million pounds. Kamran Adle – One of the dedicated investors from Octopus Ventures, where a team of six investors focus on developing health investments with companies at an early stage of development, had this to say about the event.

“Even though Octopus Ventures were not able to physically host the event as planned, it was great to still be involved. MedCity’s been really helpful to us in the past, helping us to identify those really promising early stage companies developing great health-related innovations. That’s why I’m always keen to look closely at the companies pitching at MedCity’s events and demo days. I’ve also made some great connections with other investors in the past, really valuable people within our network who we’ve gone on to share information and expertise with.”
